I've been managing the development of e-learning for so many years now that I've lost a lot of skills in graphic and web development. Now that I'm continuing work on my family photo project I'm realizing that it's time to refresh my skills.
I'm just activating my http://www.lynda.com/ account. This is a great site. You pay about $250 a year and get access to all of their training in Adobe products (as well as Macromedia) and HTML, javascript, etc. Plus, they update the trainings every time a new version comes out.
I took some of the Adobe Photoshop Elements course this weekend. You get to listen to them lead you through the actions on the screen. And, you don't actually see the person which is good because talking heads don't add a lot of value. We tend to pollute our online products with these way too much at work. But, I digress. I think the training is created in Captivate or Camtasia for those that like those two products. I can't believe I'm having to revert to Photoshop Elements, but when I'm ready to get back into Photoshop there will be a training on that as well.
Now, if I can just stop researching photography classes and just take one. I think I may end up taking that one offline though. It's my personal pre-requisite to buying a new camera and it's a little bit more of a hands on skill, don't you think?
