Bridge Posts

I'm always a little leery of posting another blog item after I've posted an "In Memory of..." blog post.

I'll have some things I want to write, and then someone passes away and I just feel weird moving on too quickly about anything light hearted, frivolous, or even noteworthy.

At work, I've talked to people that are overqualified or really not good fits for their current jobs and they say this is their temporary stop. I call it their "bridge job" which just means it is the job that keeps them going until they get into the real job that is fit for them.

I think I'll institute a "bridge post" on my blog. It will be the post where I let myself and others know that yes, I am still remembering the sad moment of someone passing, but am allowing myself the opportunity to prepare for other thoughts and comments.

And, so it is - this is my bridge post for this moment in time. Hopefully there will not be too many of these, but the concept could come in handy for a few other occasions where I need to gradually move to another topic.

I'm very sorry to hear about the passing of your Aunt. She sounds like a remarkable woman.

No one would begrudge you some "normal" posts. It sounds like your Aunt would have wanted it that way, anyway!

it seems like there are many who are "moving on"...a fellow seminary teacher of mine's husband passed away last night...sad, but yet isn't that what this world is?..A BRIDGE!! Just a bridge we all cross in our progression...now they are on the other side of the bridge meeting and greeting and working and playing and getting excited for?....the next BRIDGE! :)

true, life is a bridge. we don't know how long our personal bridge is and i think some of us have a few lose planks in the bridge that make the crossing a little difficult at times.

Deep thoughts! (-:
