Yea!
The iPhone is not broken! Now that I know the "reset" secret that requires that I push down two buttons indefinitely, it is fixed. Kudos to the AT&T store little guy that was patient and kind making me NOT feel like an idiot for not consulting my manual for advice.
$0 spent on fixing it. All cleaning will now take place with the cover on the phone!
Don't we all wish we could just hit two little buttons to reset our lives?

Ok, this is me updating this post. The iPhone is junked up again. I'm afraid I will have to bury it this week. The reset only got me so far.
