of vacation to use, my sister enticed me into a trip to watch their
six kids while they went off to a conference for a few days.
It was fun!
Granted, I had to work the entire weekend before cleaning up work
projects/ emails and I had to make the long drive in both directions.
So, being tired was partially not associated to them.
I changed many diapers, took many trips in the van and generally
couldn't keep up with, or have the kids keep up with, the constant
array of things that could cause a mess. Perhaps if they had a smaller
house it would help. But, I did say "six" kids and no less.
I'm grateful for the time we had together and I hope to do so with
more of my nieces and nephews in the next year or two.
At least once a day I had a moment with each child where I felt we
connected, laughed, or grew. The rest of the time - well, we have our
moments. Between chores, homework, soccer games and Wii - there are
moments.
Note: I made a photo book of our adventures. I will continue to plug
MyPublisher.com, Blurb.com and Winkflash.com since they are the only
companies I've used. But, I've been happy with the results every time.
