Memory Lane - Pajama Times

A few days ago my friend Pam blogged about those comfortable footie pajamas that most of us had at least one pair of when we were little. I loved those and need to look into buying a pair that fits a 6 foot lady!

Since I like to multi-task, I looked through all the scanned family pictures tonight as I listened to our church Christmas devotional. Kind of nice to have festive holiday music blaring while you look through the photos of life.

I was surprised at the number of pajama pictures! You would think we wore them all day, but maybe it's because they seemed to be THE gift at Christmas time.

We didn't settle for one type of pajamas. We had the footsies, the two-piece, the nightgown and even a few night-robes to wear over our pajamas to keep us warm around the house. Looking back it is probably because our parents were always turning down the heat to save money.

Here's proof that the boys all had the footsie pajamas.

It looks like I had the footie pajamas at 8-9 years old and RaeLyn (far right) is wearing something that was flannel and homemade. We always seemed to have the homemade pajamas and though we liked those, it was fun to get "store bought" pajamas at times. I always thought it was "interesting" that Santa could bring homemade pajamas, but I kept my mouth shut since I am, after all, the oldest.

Sometimes we would add a little flair to the pjs, like red cowboy boots or a fancy little bear coat.

Dad and Brett playing some sort of game and Mom holding someone (possibly Brett) in the late 80s proving these were still around.

The most beautiful little picture of Renaye in her pajamas ...or perhaps a pair of mine that she dressed up in?
