A certain road is paved with good intentions

We've all heard the quote:

"The road to hell is paved with good intentions."

So, I'm worried I'm going to go there.

I mean, I've had a lot of good intentions the last month.

I've written a lot of cards to friends, made stacks of stuff to take to Goodwill, and even bought Easter candy for a few kids that I wanted to suprise here locally.

What is the popular phrase - epic failure?

Yes, I sent some of the cards. Yes, I took a few things to Goodwill - when it was closed and so I didn't get the needed tax slip. Yes, I gave some of the Easter candy away.

But....

Half the cards I wrote are outdated thoughts and now I have to scrape the stamp off the envelope for another time. Half the candy was eaten by me because I was too lazy to take the candy to the right houses and I have no self control with sweets. Some of the Goodwill stuff is still sitting here by the door and the other half is in the trunk taking space.

Ugh.

I will improve, but it will take a while. It is the little things that prevent me from being as good as I'd like to be.

Perhaps others are like me and wish they could do more...

Perhaps we just need to be patient with each other.

We help some, we skip some, we share some, we lose some...

For now, I'm going to put those extra pots and pans in the trunk for Goodwill. Someone needs them.

I loved my card! I read it in the bathroom and it is still in the bathroom and I have read it a few times. :)
