Veteran on the Mall

A few days ago we went for a walk on the National Mall.

We had less than a buck in spare change, but after meeting this man it was time to hand it over.

He was so kind when we shared with him and thanked us profusely.

He was shot 40 years ago and is apparently still carrying the bullet around in him.

This is how we treat our veterans. Shameful really, unless he chooses this life which is highly doubtful.

It was a good reminder to me of 1.) bringing more cash to the Mall so I can share even a small bit with others and 2.) finding a way to become more wealthy and influential so I can help right some of these wrongs and 3.) doing more service for our country than I do and not leaving everything up to the political system that only partially works.

Memorial Day is coming up so now is a good time to prepare to share!

P.S. He was proud that I wanted to take his picture.
