My new website - Nudge Village!

So, I haven't really talked about it much, but I do have a new website.

It is called Nudge Village and it is a website to promote entrepreneurs - of all types. It is a place to share ideas and highlight your business, your book, your idea, your skills.

I don't have a logo yet because it is too important to select quickly. But, we'll have one soon.

Either way, take a look and let me know if you'd like me to highlight you, your talents and/or your company.

We will even highlight those that are really experienced or just starting out. The point is for all of us to learn and grow and share.

This is what I stay busy with late at night when I should be sleeping and prepping for the day job. (-:

I'm sorry

These are the words I've had to say a few times this week.

I'm sorry.

Sigh.

Sometimes everything in my head just comes out of my head wrong. On the one hand, I feel like I've been more than helpful and accommodating to certain people that drive me crazy in my life. On the other hand...there are people that might not be in the right frame of mind to handle some of my direct and factual comments.

So, if I've done this to you I am sorry.

I'll share just one because it is amusing ...in a way.

We had a meeting at work this week to discuss gaming and simulation implementation into our current product development efforts. There is a new person from who knows where that will be working on some projects. We were going through a list of simulations we are going to purchase and one was about "emotional intelligence." The guy kind of laughed it off like it was some random thing while asking what it was. I quipped that "emotional intelligence is a major topic in most business corporations today" and did it in a way that was a little flippant. Yikes. He kind of shut up a bit after that.

If you don't know what emotional intelligence is...I demonstrated what it was not. Do a google search to find the info, but it is the soft skills as well as business savvy that can make or break you as a boss, co-worker or CEO.

He pretty much got an "I'm sorry" email today because I do have emotional intelligence. It just happens to be of the delayed kind.

Despite what an old co-worker used to say (never say you are sorry because you will never make it to management), I have found that the higher I move up in responsibility the more important it is to say it.

And on that note I will end...to stifle any more words that will get me in trouble.

You remind me of P. Diddy!

So, I was told that I reminded someone of P. Diddy the other day! I don't know whether to laugh or to go into deep reflection about this. I really don't know much about him, but have found out that he is a hip-hop mogul and is quite the business man. I wouldn't mind if I was thought to be an amazing business woman, but I have not achieved that success yet. Anyone that knows me well knows that I probably have 1 rap/hip-hop type song out of the 2,500 items on my iPOD and for me that pretty much covers the genre.

No, the reason they were reminded of P. Diddy is because I wear a lot of vests. His appear to be regular suit vests, but mine are more in the line of thin sweater vests. The woman thought that I was copying P.Diddy by wearing the sweater vests. Alas, me copying a rapper? Hmmm. That's a new one. Since he is almost the same age as me, I'm inclined to believe he copied me because I have found evidence of times past that my sweater vest habit has been around for many years.
Either way, it was an interesting enough comment to cause me a few minutes of reflection and posting.
