Well, the cherry blossoms came and went. I went to the National Mall last night, but was too late. Darn it! I've managed to make it down there every other year.
This year, there were more tourists than flowers by the time I made it down to the tidal basin.
No good pictures this year, but here's one from years past. They are beautiful and a great gift to our country. Read more at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Cherry_Blossom_Festival

So sad you missed but there were soooooooooooooooo many people over the weekend there...it was crazy!
Hi cousin, this is Tiffani. My sister, Tonya and I are planning on attending the Restoring Honor Rally in D.C. on August 28th. We planned on staying with Paul's brother who lives within walking distance of the mall but haven't made contact with him yet. He works for the state dept. and seems to be gone for long stretches of time with no communication. Anyway, I'm hoping to hear back from him before this. But I thought I better make a back up plan just in case. Do you live near the mall? Would you be up for having a couple visitors for a few days? I know this is a huge thing to ask. It would be fun to reconnect with you. Let me know what you think. Thanks, Tiffani
