Ah well, it isn't all bad.
In a way I feel like a new mother - the house is a bit messy, my sleeping patterns are off, and I should be riding a bike 15 miles a day to get in shape, but I'm not. Plus, I just bit my lip and realize that I still have some face mask junk on my face that I put on over an hour ago that should really come off. I got some free little tube of this stuff and decided to use it - obviously not a normal "to do" of mine.
Anyway, life's been pretty good, except for that one check I bounced because now there are bills to pay for two people instead of one and I haven't yet figured out how to keep track of it all.
But, we are doing some fun and cheap things near home.
We went to DC the other night and walked around the National Mall. Got some fun pictures with my cheap camera (ugh - it is time to get a nice camera again) and felt the same love for DC that I felt the first time we went there as little kids on family trips.
Flags surrounding the Washington Monument |
Me making a mistake with my camera, but ending up with a cool photo |
The Mall by night - which would be way cool if my camera actually worked in the dark |
Luckily, there are still some wonderful flowers on the trees - not cherry blossoms, but in a way much better. |
We took a little day trip to the Baltimore Inner Harbour - always fun to walk around the harbour and people watch. Never a dull moment.
Next time we are going to get a ticket for this fast boat! |
Otherwise, most things are moving right along. Eating too much, not exercising enough and trying to simplify, simplify, and simplify.
Thanks to my friend Marti - we now have an awesome skillet to make pancakes! And, it is built to last a lifetime. |
All in all - being a slacker blogger doesn't mean that I'm hiding bad stuff. Though 2009-2010 are two years I'd love to wipe off the calendar, 2011 is shaping up to be a pretty good year.
Hope it is for you too!

Loved the pictures. It's always fun hearing about your outings. I just wanted to say that I was always a morning person until I got married. Then for some reason I hated the morning and I still have a hard time dragging myself out of bed. Maybe it's happened to you?
Great post!
And there was a very funny ad running along the bottom of it in my RSS reader. It was the Groupon ad with a big BOOYAH! across it.
It was a funny way to end the post with "2011 is great. BOOYAH!"
It gave me a good chuckle!
Fuh-ney! Booyah is a great word. Thanks for your comments.
